Description
The White Rose was commissioned by the White Rose Concert Band from Harrogate, England. The band takes its name from the county symbol of Yorkshire, the white rose. This partly rhythmic, partly lyrical piece opens with a flourish from the trumpets. Following a rhythmic melody in the clarinets are solo passages for flute and trumpet leading to the finale, which brings together elements of the whole piece.
