Description

Dark Brother, a setting of the last two paragraphs from Thomas Wolf’s God’s Lonely Man, was the first piece that Partch wrote especially for his self-developed Chromelodeon. The voice for Chromelodeon emphasizes Tonality flux – Partchs notion for his vocal guidance method by means of the resolution of small intervals as well as fast passages with very small intervals that obscure the harmonic event. These two techniques became features of Partch’s music for Chromelodeon altogether.
