Description

Ophee has chosen this little-known concert piece, originally written for the Viennese 10-string guitar, as his fourth entry in The Guitarist’s Repertoire. A challenging set of Hungarian motifs, perhaps chief among them the Rákóczi March (a version which [Ophee suggests] may have led to the adaptations of Berlioz and Liszt). Ophee’s editing, background information and his enumeration of modifications for performance on the 6-string guitar are priceless.
