Description

Although Fanny Hensel (1805-1847) always came second after her brother, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, with regard to the publication of her compositions in her own time, she has recently been given the appreciation she deserves. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of her death, we are presenting yet another new first print (after volume RL 40390) which is worth discovering: 5 piano pieces dated 1843 and 1844 which create complex emotional pictures due to the lyric way the parts are arranged, the wide span of melodies and a sensitive use of harmonies. This edition includes both an extensive preface and a detailed critical commentary.
