From the opening strains, the Adagio is a study in dynamic extremes. Dedicated to his grandson Cristóbal “and his cellist friends,” the Adagio was premiered at the 2nd annual Halffter Festival of Contemporary Music in Ponferrada (Spain) in 2017. A short (7′) but intense work for accomplished trio, for which the composer suggests the use of a conductor.
