Description
Peter Joseph Lindpaintner (1791-1856) aspired to write great musical forms, but he failed, however, to achieve lasting success. What remained are his songs and small-form works, such as the variations presented here. It is one of four “Fantasias” for flute and piano which he includes in his vast autograph catalogue of works (Landesbibliothek Stuttgart) under the number 360. Our edition is based on an edition printed by the publishing company Schott 1846/47.
