Description

Bertold Hummel is famous for being a versatile composer with regard to different musical genres. The piece “in honorem”, dedicated to Klaus Hashagen on the occasion of his 70th birthday, was recorded by various radio stations and met with great approval when it premiered. It consists of three movements, and its musical material is based on the anagramme of the man it was dedicated to. The seemingly improvised „Invocation“ as introduction is followed by an extended „Toccata“. The third movement „Choral“ completes this piece which is both effective and rich in sound language.
