Description
This playful Suite is a typical example for the enormous stylistic range of instrumental music in the golden age of the baroque period. Like all French suites, this Suite in A minor (originally in G minor) shows a great number of dotted notes and syncopes. In combination with all the ornaments, this results in a rich tonal image which corresponds to the 17th century trends both in literature and art as well as the French nobility’s way of life. This piece can be played with an advanced technique on a generally intermediate level.
