Description
Bulgarian folk music, which has been covered over, supplemented and broadened with foreign influences, is rich with irregular rhythmic and metric parameters. The frequently changing meters, necessitated by an unusual combining and “stretching” of individual time signatures, are also the basis for this work. Siegfried Fink wrote “Salut de Serdika“ as obligatory piece for the competition “Siegfried Fink”, Sofia 97. Instruments needed for a performance are: templeblock, bongos, cowbell, snare drum and bass drum.
