Description
Franz Danzi (1763-1826) began his career as a cellist in Mannheim, where he was born, and progressed through several orchestras and opera companies as Kapellmeister, taking him all through Germany. Danzi’s compositions, which encompass all music genres, prove him to be one of the pioneers of Romanticism, and his close friend Carl Maria von Weber’s operas and instrumental works owe Danzi essential inspiration. This edition by Robert Munster corrects some few errors and adds some performance markings such as slurs. Movements: I. Allegro (characterized by melodic richness and harmonic color), II. Andante (intamate), III. Polacca (moody)
