Containing an extensive critical commentary, introductory notes and reproductions of the half-tint illustrations by Robert Kretschmer that appeared in the first edition. Also included is the supplementary volume Venezia e Napoli, beautiful and ingenious revisions of earlier works based on Italian street music.
