Description
Riccardo Drigo’s Serenade from the ballet music “Arlekinada” or “I milioni di Arlecchino” is just a classical evergreen as Giordani’s well known aria “Caro mio ben”. The world famous opera composers Gioacchino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti wrote the “Petit Caprice” in the style of a Parisian operetta and the Allegro from the Sonata in F major for oboe and piano. The Andantino of this edition proves, that the “devil’s violinist” Paganini could also write lyrical music, and Busoni’s “Little Moorish Dance” gives evidence of his post romantic period.
