Description

Levinson’s second work for organ was also his second piece written for Olivier Latry, titular organist of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. It was completed in full cooperation between composer and artist. Au Coeur de l’Infini (At the heart of the infinite) includes 98 combinations of stops, along with, as Levinson says,”frequent long pauses intended to be filled with resonances.” After its premiere in May 2013, to honor the 850th anniversary of the genesis of the Cathedral, Latry toured extensively with the piece.
