Rayneau is a founding member of the Ensemble Helios, a quartet of flute and strings who are strong proponents of new concert music. A large number of new works have been created especially for the flute, violin, viola, and cello of Helios, from composers such as Casterede, Damase, Escaich, Feld, Finzi, and more. Rayneau now makes her own contribution to new music with the flute quartet based on two poems of Victor Hugo. In A propos d’Horace, narration of the text is primarily within the 4th flute part, while all players use extended techniques in reflection of the poem.
