Description
Leshnoff chose two very different movements for his Chamber Concerto, designed to explore the capabilities of the solo violin. In the first movement, wherein each note holds meaning (as do the silences between notes), the violin soars above the orchestral accompaniment in a relatively sparse but effective melodic line. The second movement is fast, jaunty, rhythmic, a race to the finish.
