Description
Ruth Zechlin’s latest work for percussion was composed for and dedicated to the “Cracow percussion group”. A total of 82 instruments, which can be put into 24 different types of instruments, is divided among 8 players. The underlying idea of this composition is a fully composed accelerando and crescendo. A basic structure featuring highly contrasting rhythms appears over and over again. This structure is interrupted by individual activities of varying character (misterioso, espressivo maestoso, tranquillo molto). The piece is definitely concert literature due to its rhythmic and technical features which require a lot of skill plus experience in ensemble playing.
