Ada Richter has given much to the very beginning piano students. A clear example of her arranging skills is this first grade edition of Debussy’s classic Clair de lune. In the key of C major, Richter’s arrangement has distilled Debussy’s work down to the simplest detail without losing the effect. This edition does include the occasional sharp and flat, but chords are kept to two-note triads, pedaling is clearly indicated, and students are free to explore the dynamics and melodic form.
