Description
Carl Maria von Weber (1786–1826) composed with his Concertino Op. 45 one of the most difficult pieces of horn literature. It thrives by sentimental and stately melodic lines, and by the extraordinary virtuosity demanded of the player. In the end, it requires an almost feat-like, multiphonic use of the natural or valve horn. The piece is in the repertoire of the very best horn players.
