Description
Arcangelo Corelli (1653 – 1713) was a violinist conductor and even though his survived oeuvre is very manageable, he was a great composer. His fame glows far over the italian borders. Nevertheless he was a modest artist bothered with self doubts. The 12 Concerti grossi op. VI are originally for 2 solo flutes, a solo violoncello and 2 violins, viola and bass (choric). The current edition of the popular Concerto no. 8 is playable as a trio as well as for aseven voiced flute choir. The last movement, the famous pastorale, is also in the orignal ad libitum, so that it can also be performed at other times than christmas. The difficulty level is basic medium.
