Description
The divertimenti in B-flat major, K. 186/159b and E-flat major, K. 166/159d, were both written for pairs of oboes, English horns, clarinets, horns, and bassoons, and are considered companion works. Although the origin and inspiration for such an ensemble with odd instrumentation is uncertain, they are considered the first stage in Mozart’s development as a wind music composer.
