Hermann Prey once said about Fried Walter: “I do not know anyone who knows more of instrumentation. He could write a concerto for vacuum cleaners and piccolo, it would sound fantastic”. Contacts with guitarists such as Siegfried Behrend and the Napoli Mandolin Orchestra (Berlin) led Fried Walter to compose more pieces for plucked string orchestras. 1990, he was honored by the Federation of German Plucked String Musicians with the honorary membership.
