Description
A visit to Lagonegro (southern Italy) found Delpriora captivated by the atmosphere of the church venue and the sounds of bells and choir flowing through the air. Some years later, he was asked for a piece to capture his impressions and Fantasia Lagonegrese is the result. An ethereal, otherworldly opening leads to a sort of barcarolle, as if leaving the church grounds for the secular joy of the townsfolk. The Fantasia is not overly demanding, and an accomplished student may well be up to the performance.
