Description
‘Frankie Found Cuba’ is in the mambo style. The tempo can be flexible. This style needs to have a ‘snap’ to it in order to be effective. Over emphasize the articulations and dynamics! The solo section uses what some people call ‘Bracketing’. This is when the chord progression for soloing is derived from a single scale. When this happens the soloist has the option to use one scale while actually soloing over the chord changes. In this case the scale to solo on is the concert F major scale.
