Description
The Land behind the Clouds is a fairytale in which a little girl saves the earth with her flute play. “Moments” (Song of the sound goddess) describes moments in the lives of Indians; the composition also contains pentatonic elements. The “Song of the Grass Dancer” evokes reminiscences of folkloric dances due to its liveliness and rhythmic features. Once again, the author succeeded in creating a piece of art that goes beyond music by combining language and music, as he did in his “Seasons” (ZM 33170) in which images and music are mutually inspiring. The edition presented here also contains the complete text of the fairytale and is thus especially suited for being used in school lessons.
