Description

Franz von Blon (1861-1945) composed a series of marches that are lively and full of the most beautiful melodies, with a dashing beginning, an easygoing extension, followed by a sweeping transition, up to the final conclusion. Blon’s marches were not written originally for the military drill, but are rather beautiful concert pieces, which at that time became a popular repertoire of all civil chapels, especially of spa orchestras. “Heil Europa” of 1900 is one of the most popular marches by Franz von Blon and is still the standard of many musical societies.
