“In this composition for mixed choir based on a text by Friedrich H�lderlin (an author who has inspired me for decades, whom I read again and again, and whose texts form the basis of several of my works, including the 1st String Quartet – Elegy To Diotima, the orchestral piece The Wanderer), I have tried to emphasize the images, moods and formal aspects in a tonal language appropriate to the poem. For example, at the passage “Doch heute la…”, where the first-person narrator refers back to the beginning, a kind of recapitulation is built in; the connection between the passages should be made clear to the listener, they should feel it.
