Description
Margaret Tucker has served long and well in the church community, one of the first Commissioned Ministers of Music in the United Church of Christ. She is also a published composer of hymns, and co-editor of Hymns of Truth & Light. Her Invitation, adapting text by British poet Israel Zangwill, serves well as both a wedding celebration or hymn of welcome. Layered and staggered voices build into the verse, the voices calm and welcoming. Some divisi in the upper voices, but not challenging. Particularly effective with flute, but organ accompaniment can be used. For intermediate singers. Duration: 3′ 30″
