Description

This is Mike’s first solo with Alfred Music. Students who want to “play jazz” will enjoy the syncopated rhythms and jazz harmonies. It will be easy for them to sound like “pros” since the melodic and rhythmic patterns used are repeated throughout the piece. Written in the key of G minor and 4/4 meter, the piece uses accidentals and accents to help create the jazz sound and feel. The left-hand bass line is a four-bar figure that is repeated while the right-hand melody features intervals of thirds and sixths. Students are sure to have fun “jazzin’ around town.”
