The New Karl Scheit Guitar Edition (with editors Olaf Van Gonnissen, Thomas Müller-Pering, and Johannes Monno) have produced another definitive edition from the guitar’s classic repertoire in Sor’s L’Encouragement, Op. 34. The principal source is the edition by Napoleon Coste, a student of Sor’s and the finest virtuoso guitarist of his time, who produced, edited, and republished Sor’s original Méthode after the maestro’s death.
