American composer and pianist Edward MacDowell (1860-1908) composed the six songs included in this edition between 1890 and 1898. The songs are representative of MacDowell’s middle creative period. Includes: “Thy beaming eyes,” “The swan bent low,” “A maid sings light,” “O lovely rose,” “Deserted,” and “Slumber song.”
