Description
Mallon by this composer from Nuremberg is an etude for a solo percussionist which requires joy of playing along with a sense for sound plus advanced technical skills. By arranging the instruments either in a circle or in steps, they can all be reached by every player. The notes have been set in a size which can even be read from a greater distance. This edition comes in sheets which allows flexible distribution to several music stands and avoids standstill due to the turning of pages. “A variety of suitable instrumental melodic, harmonic and rhythmic ‘gestures’ with their variations, are presented one after the other such as: tonal and chordal repetition, block chords and broken chords, melodic flourishes and lines, arpeggios, glissandi and others. The melodic-harmonic material is based on specific interval relationships (minor seconds to tri-tones). Meters and rhythms have been developed from specific rows “per addendum” (1+2+3+5, etc.).
