Description
Notes in Autumn, Quintet for Flute & String Quartet, was completed in 2003. It is cast in three movements, each of which explores changing relationships between these five instruments. A short cadenza for the solo flute appears in the third movement. The first and third movements favor varying rhythmic configurations, the second, songlike, lyrical elements. -Allan Blank
