Description

These two pieces for classical guitar by American-born and Puerto Rican-raised classical guitarist and composer Ernesto Cordero were inspired by beautiful structures in Perugia, Italy and Guerrero, Mexico. Cordero was a student of Regino Sainz de la Maza in Spain in the 1960s and Alíro Díaz and Claudio de Angelis in Italy in 1972, and served as the director of the International Guitar Festival of Puerto Rico from 1980 until 1997. Written to honor the Taxco International Guitar Festival in Mexico, sounds evoking church bells, Gregorian chants, automobile horns and more can be heard throughout these descriptive works.
