Description
Dvorak’s PIANO QUINTET No. 2, Op. 81, has long been one of the most played chamber music composition in world literature. The composer wrote his first piano quintet (Op. 5) in the summer of 1872. Fifteen years later, he decided to create a new quintet in the same key. The rare freshness of this quintet’s spontaneous creation is apparent in the work itself, which may be described as one of the most authentic and self-revealing musical portraits in existence.
