Bassoon, Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3Christian Lidarti

Description

Following the Trio for 3 flutes (ZZM 31400) , we now publish the Quartet in C major for 3 flutes and bassoon composed by Giuseppe Lidarti, born in Vienna in 1730 and who died in Italy, presumably in 1793. Originally, the bass was marked violoncello, but it makes sense to use a bassoon with regard to the 3 flutes’ upper parts plus the fact that this corresponds to the musical practice of the time. The piece consists of three movements which are not too long, and it is homophonic with dialogue parts. Due to its delightful and extraordinary instrumentation, it enriches the repertoire and can thus be especially recommended for music lessons.
