Description
This eclectic piano solo was written for the Vision Into Arts International Pianofest and was premiered in December of 2002 in New York City. The composer, son of noted jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, pays tribute to his father’s jazz legacy and mentor Darius Milhaud through this wild romp featuring a variety of styles including boogie-woogie, jazz, and improvisation. A short piece (only three minutes), this dramatic work is perfect for an unusual encore, showpiece in a piano recital or when a little dramatic contrast is in order for any program.
