Originally titled Andante, Sibelius changed it to Romance in 1908 when a reviewer suggested that “Nocturne” or “Romance” better fit the work. A charming piece with a characteristic melody, this little crowd-pleaser has three main sections with a slow-fast-slow form. A string count of 8-8-5-5-5 is included in the set.
