This more difficult work for horn, written in 1862, is a beautiful vehicle for the horn, requiring a great deal of sensitivity from the performer.  Humble and unassuming, though sophisticated, it requires strong flexibility and endurance in the horn’s middle and high range.  This version includes piano accompaniment, though orchestra accompaniment was also written by Saint-Sa�ns.
