Flute 1, Flute 2Jean Breval

Description

Jean Baptiste Sebastian Bréval was born in Paris in 1753 and died in the department of Aisne in 1823. Even more sustained than his instrumental work was his success as an author and composer. The major part of his works is dedicated to his own instrument, the cello. Many of his works feature pedagogic aspects without lacking ‘pleasantness and naturalness’. This holds also true for the duets presented here. The work was published by Bréval himself in Paris (1784). A pronounced feature of these duets is their splitting up in two movements, with the second movement always using the key of the first and showing a dance-like character.
