Description
Neapolitan music is considered a form of art particular to the people of Naples. Its golden era was between 1850 and 1920. The catchy melodies and almost simple structures are the reason why these songs are so popular with novice and maestro alike. Of the six songs selected, four are serenades and two are merry and light. These songs would have been played and sung by “Posteggietori” on street corners, cafes and even beneath windows of Neapolitan ladies on behalf of romantic lovers.
