Description

Michel Blavet (1700-1768) was a very famous and popular musician even in his lifetime. Although he was an autodidact on many instruments, his main instrument was the flute traversi?re which he played left-handed. His compository style is marked by Italian elements, and he was influenced by Telemann, too. On October 1, 1728, Blavet’s first sonatas for 2 flutes traversi?res were published. They are presented here in a transposed version for 2 alto recorders based on the first print. These lively and appealing pieces range from an intermediate to an advanced level of difficulty.
