Description

This is a new volume containing dance-like, galant recorder duets of intermediate difficulty. We have only a few data on the life and work of Charles Bâton. He was born in Versailles, France, in the early 18th century and died in Paris after 1754. What we do know, however, is that he – just like his father – was a great virtuoso on the vielle (hurdy-gurdy) and it was for this instrument that the two sonatas had originally been composed. This edition contains detailed information on the contemporary use of ornaments and playing technique.
