Johann Sebastian BachTreble Recorder, Flute, Guitar

Description

This sonata is quite mysterious. It was composed around 1736 and has been handed down in the form of a copy made by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach’s authorship has been contested repeatedly. Indeed, examinations of style let us assume that the sonata is rather a work that was written by an unknown composer and arranged by J.S. Bach. It is possible, however, that the ‘unknown composer’ was his son, Carl Philipp Emanuel. A separate part for alto recorders is included in this edition.
