Description
Trying to find Haydn pieces for the flute will be pretty much disappointing. He wrote only 6 pieces for the flute. The piece presented here is based on the piano sonata in A flat major, Hoboken XVI, no. 43, which was presumably completed in 1783 and is also available in a version for piano, violin and violoncello. The piece was transposed to C major to make the best use of the flute’s compass.
