Luise Le BeauPiano, Cello

Description

Hildegard has truly uncovered a gem in publishing this lovely sonata for cello and piano, written in the 19th century by German composer and concert pianist Luise Adolpha LeBeau. At the time of its composition, this sonata was largely overlooked due to prejudices against female composers. Sonate, Op. 17 is written in formal classical style, but gives way to soaring, romantic impulses and stark key changes, supported by a driving piano accompaniment. The piano accompaniment is a reprint of the impressively accurate 1878 edition, and the cello part is newly engraved and drawn from the piano score, with discrepancies reconciled by the editor. For advanced players.
