Winner of the 2021 Music Unites the World Songwriting Contest, this piece was premiered by the Education Through Music LA Festival Choir. Drawing his text from Mahatma Gandhi and Rumi, Malpede transports an ageless message to the 21st century. The lesson of acceptance, love, and peace could not be more transparently simple, but the melody and harmony are captivating. Offered here in a setting conceived for children’s voices, the piece has already successfully captivated adult singers.
