Description

If only for their intended use as chamber music, Fürstenau’s flute trios (op.14, 22, 66 and 118) can by no means be labelled pieces of hollow virtuosity. In particular, the integration of fugues shows that Fürstenau genuinely strived to write works of serious musical substance. The Grand Trio (with fugue) op.118 presented here was composed around 1840. This edition is based on the first edition (?) published by Bote and Bock (1840).
