Description
After completion of his song cycle Die schone Mullerin, Schubert set about writing a set of variations on one of the songs, Trockne Blumen. Ross touches upon the resulting controversy surrounding the brilliant virtuosity of the piece, which does not appear to have been performed during Schubert’s lifetime, and explains in detail her transcription for violin. She continues the time honored tradition of repertoire sharing between the two instruments. Her own performance is available on YouTube.
