Anton DiabelliGuitar 1, Guitar 2

Description

This new edition is based on the original edition owned by the library of the Milan Conservatory. The note text was reproduced without alteration – the only exception being the indications which could not be taken over due to the different sound effect on modern guitars. Diabelli expressly stated that the part of the first guitar, originally written for a piccolo guitar, can also be played by a normal guitar with a capodaster. The cycle of variations is structured as follows: first, there is the exposition, followed by five variations which vary in character. Both players are equally challenged. The fifth (and last) variation is quite unusual as Diabelli did not arrange it as an end “stretta”, but a calm Andantino pastorale instead. The variations have an intermediate level of difficulty.
