Description
The second in a set of three Recollections by Iannaccone, Waiting for Sunrise on the Sound represents recurring dreams of a youth spent on Long Island Sound and sometimes dangerous boating expeditions. When the sea and skies seemed about to doom the crew, the clouds would part and the waves would subside. In this orchestral and tonal setting, Iannaccone makes a concious effort to bridge the large ambience of the orchestral hall with a more intimate sound. Waiting for Sunrise was selected as one of five semi-finalists in the 2001 Masterprize competition, and is recorded on the Albany label (TROY 486). Dur.: 25′
